He is checking to see if the proposed meeting dates will work for us....at this point, John wishes to confirm that the Feb. 27"* and March 13" dates are open for the 100% review meeting (LHPS and IPS respectively). There is also a 60% review meeting for S-4006 on Feb. 12" that | plan to attend. Saginaw Bay is welcome to attend...if not, you can send me any review comments, as needed, prior to that meeting. | also pointed out to John that we are also interested in receiving the surge analysis given how far along they are in the pipeline design. John, Thought I should give you a update of the olan submittals for the Pipeline Contracts (S.4002, $.4003, 5.4005 and 5.4006). The 60% subrnittals will be as shown on the Planning Calendar with one caveat. They will be submitting only the glans on thase dates, All the specifications and PDR’s are projected to submitted on or before February 4a i still will have the plans delivered to Jon and Mike the day after they are received per the Planning Calendar and once we have received the PDR’s & Specifications, | will see that they are delivered to thern as they are received. I believe we had a very productive meeting on the 10th. Covered many issues and developed scheduling that will be efficient/productive for all concerned and work within the compressed design schedule established to more the project quickly. The next meetings, including DEQ staff, are as follows: -Workshop-November Sth at GCDC at 8:00AM. The first hour, for the DEQ staff, will be devoted to a pipeline surge analysis presentation, -Pump Station Review-November 19th at 8:30AM at GCDC office. The 60% PS drawings will be submitted to GCDC 11/6 and then GCDC_ [WT] to send to both DEQ offices, -Pipeline Review-January 6, 2014 at GCDC office at 10:00AM, the 60% pipeline drawings to be delivered to GCDC on 12/13 and then GCDC [WT] to sent to both DEQ offices. I was agreed that Larry Osborn will hand carry a flash drive to both the Lansing and Saginaw DEQ offices, of the 60% plans, to expedite the review process and they to put on a LAN system as appropriate. It was agreed half size drawings are appropriate at this review stage. It was further agreed that Larry Osborn will email the pipeline PDR and Matt has sent the pipeline map. At our last meeting we discussed a tentative meeting date of June 12th. However, Flint City is in the process of selecting a consultant to review the WTP on how to activate the plant on a daily basis, if needed. That consultant will not be on board until after the June 12 tentative meeting date. Therefore, until a WTP consultant is selected the June 12 meeting is postponed until further notice. It will be necessary to meet with MDEQ, on final design criteria, for the KWA project, but it is hoped we can schedule a joint meeting with both Flint City and GCDC to encompass both projects. See attached DWS5D news release with DWSD Director's statement on Flint’s decision ta commit to purchasing raw water frorn the KWA. In my discussion with Brent Wright, Flint WTP Supt., there is speculation {concern} of what may happen when the termination of the water service agreement with DWSD becomes effective on 4/17/2014. Current speculation is that DWS5D may attempt to recoup thelr “stranded costs” by adding it to Flint’s ready to serve and/or cormmodity rate for the remaining time that they need to purchase water from the DWSD (from 4/18/2014 — till KWA water can be piped to the Flint WTP}.
