Flint Water

Just finished a call with the Mayor. She indicates that the staff is working on a more complete analysis of Water System finances right now and it should be done soon. | also want to share that while we were talking she received a text message that the City had exhausted their supply of bottled water and filters. Not sure where that info needs to go, but please pass it the appropriate parties. Wayne Wayne L. RTAB

As you know, Brian Larkin will be stepping down from the RTAB, his replacement will be critical given all the stuff happening in Flint. | recommend broader input from the Flint community on that person. I'll call you tomorrow. Best, Harvey xxxEND_PAGE:executiveofficeemails20_b1708_4165_4165_1

Harvey, Attached are various documents and press reports of the City Council's vote in March 2013 to join KWA. We have not located the actual resolution and it is not on the City’s website. It is interesting that the only no vote explained he wanted to just use Flint River water. Wayne Wayne L. Workman Deputy State Treasurer Michigan Department of Treasury

RE: Updated Memo on Water Coalition Questions - July 29

( think this information is very helpful. It will not answer the main question about the quality of the water (DEQ is working on that through Brad | believe), and the color and smell of the present water, but it does get us to the answers to the less subjective issues. Frankly, the only way the issues will be totally resolved is when the KWA comes on line and the water is perceived to be cleaner and healthier. | am somewhat surprised that the leadership in Flint has not responded better to the community questions, which don’t seem unreasonable at all. Seems like Harvey has a better network into some of the neighborhoods than the city does. The KWA PR department definitely needs to do some outreach or they're headed down the same road as DWSD. Do you know if they go out on a regular basis to the community and talk about the rates, costs, etc.?

Flint Water

Harvey, Wanted to let you know | did get in touch with Jerry Ambrose last night and the City will be working on a side by side comparison of KWA vs DWSD and a simple explanation of the current finances of the water system. Hope the attachments Ed Koryzno sent again are helpful. One was the list of members in the new Water Advisory Committee and the second was the interim report from Veiola.
