The newspaper only talks about the increased number of children who are testing positive for lead but they have not said anything about what the average lead levels are. Do you have any idea what they are finding? Is there someone else that I should be asking this question to? Isn't Flint one of Ruth Ann's cities? Hope that you are well. Wes is away from his desk but iasked staff. We da not have the final renorts from the 5 completed EBLs from ETC a8 yet. 1 takes several days to get analytical results from the lab on the dust, soll and water samples. But field staff are definitely finding lead paint and other lead-cortaining hazards at the homes. Will have to wait and see on the water sarnples, but fll get back to you when we have more results. We do have a completed report for the Flint hame where the dogs were lead poisoned: water samples were 4 ppb unfiltered kitchen tap, 8 ppb main bathroorn, 100-300 ppb in outside faucet, and over 7000 pob in an indoor basement tap. There was also lead paint and dust hazards.

Please keep in mind that partial service line replacement can actually exacerbate the problem. The city is mapping all the service lines and will then have to systernatically replace the lines ina way that minimizes the downstream impacts. In the meantime, we have to stress the need to cartinue using fitered water for drinking and cooking for all inhabitants, human and non-hurnar alike.

Here is a copy of the report fo A family-EBL dog)-as we had discussed earlier | kept it as standard Paint inspection/risk assessment and kept an eye out for anything unusual. Really this was very typical of most of the jobs we do. The only thing that really stood out to me was the water levels at the rear faucets and that stand alone shower. As far as the water is concerned it does seem to be localized to the rear fixtures so | did recommend that branch of the supply lines be replaced. I’ve also sent along the sample results paperwork provided by the lab-! will have Kendra send a copy with the report. | have a feeling that the findings going forward at other addresses will be very similar. The bad thing is most of these fixtures will not have been tested previously so we won’t really be able to attribute the problem to the water changeover. Please let me know if you feel we need to make any changes to the report-if not I'll have Kendra send it on to the homeowners. Fwd: Update from GCHD meeting with Flint Schools and Rep Neeley this morning

Good afternoon, Rep Neeley, Mr. Tawwab, Jaime G (United Way), Eileen T, Director of School Nursing, Toni Larocco and Mark Valaceck and | met this morning at Flint City Superintendent’s office. Regardless of half-life of lead and potential for “false reassurance” which has been a concern of most of us, primary the providers, the Superintendent does want an event which will include parental education followed by testing if wanted, at one of his schools sites. GCHD agrees that there are children that need to be tested, regardless of the Flint River episode, and working with the schools is a great way to reach those children and educate and test as needed. All are comfortable with the following plan: o November 12" there will be a “Lead Awareness Event” (title still being worked on) being held by the Schools in partnership with GCHD. This will be held north of the city at Northwester school, where parents of children 0-5 will be targeted and asked to come for a lead awareness education event and testing if needed. There will be WIC, SNAP, Home Depot, cooking demos, etc. They do want Wes Priem’s program to be there to talk about abatement as well if they can make it (| know they will be there at the Burton GCHD one on the 5"). © One thing | may have been wrong on in the past: Adults who present for testing to GCHD, the Nov 5 or Nov 12" events will be asked to get their testing with their primary provider; this is in line with our prioritization for children 0-5.
