MCIR and Lead

Sorry to interrupt your call, Martha...| just have a quick question... One message that GCHD wanted to be included in outreach materials was that parents should request that their medical providers look in MCIR to see if/when their child was tested for lead. Rachel Potter confirmed that there is that option in MCIR, but she wasn’t sure how it was updated in the system — do doctors have to enter it directly or does it pull from the data warehouse? Are results saved to? xxxEND_PAGE:dhhs03_b0455_1660_1661_1 001661 If we incorporate this request into the messaging, | just want to make sure that it will actually provide the answer they’re looking for. Aerator Fact Sheet

Hi Linda: Attached is the aerator cleaning fact sheet that was requested by Jim Henry and Genesee County Health Department. It’s been reviewed and approved by Kory Groetsch, Jen Gray, Courtney Wisinski, and Hilda McShane at GCHD. I’ve filled out the mandatory publication form, and put it in Kory’s mailbox to go up the signatory chain per Angela Minicuci’s instructions. However, | wanted to also pass it along to you to forward up the IC chain for review simultaneously, should you so choose. On 12/14, Jason Holben confirmed that the publication forms for the Phosphate fact sheet and Bath Time poster were on Angela’s desk awaiting approval. - Michelle ><{{{'> wun michigan.aov/eatsafetish <'}}}>< Michelle Bruneau, MA Project Manager & Health Educator Michigan Department of Health & Human Services 201 Townsend, 4th FI Lansing, MI 48913 Direct: (517) 335-8984 xxxEND_PAGE:dhhs02_b0444_1798_1799_1 001799 Tall free: 1580064896942 Fax: (17) 335°8800 xxxEND_PAGE:dhhs02_b0444_1798_1799_2

FW: Phosphate Fact Sheet

Importance: High Linds, fon & Kory: Eelow, ease see a note received fram im Henry with comunenis they recelyed from the EPA wih regards to the fact sheet and my response that Geralyn may be Interested in secing. Alaa, (Hease Gee my rasmonses to Brad’s carnnedia nine of his email in green; Jen & Kory feel free to chime in with any adits or suggestions, Linda ~ feel free to srmooth h out as you see fit Note received this aNernoaan fram Jim Henry, GOHD: We have not posted the fact sheet as a courtesy to this MDHHS team, exclusively. We greatly appreciate the assistance relative to the toxicological assessments. However; the delays in communication to the community, due to the state’s bureaucracy is unacceptable. This process is compromising our relationship and needs to be expedited. Below are some recommendations for the factsheet from our partners at EPA. A few thoughts: 1. Under “Learn About Phosohate”, wordering if the term “salt” will concern people on low-sodium or salt-restricted diets? We agree it's a proper terrn. 2. Secand bullet uncer “Why is there...”, this kind of misses the solder issue, which is probably widespread. [would suggest something like: “Homes built befora 1987 are more likely to have lead service lines, lead pipes, anc 50% or more fearied solder. Brass valves and faucets may have lead, and older faucets are Ikely to have higher lead contents. 2 xxxEND_PAGE:deq20_b02_058_173_113 3.
