Does the following statement mean there are in fact other disease-carrying pathogens in the water? “State tests suggest the water is clear of coliform bacteria, which can suggest the presence of other disease-carrying pathogens.” What a horribly worded sentence. No wonder there is so much outrage. Brant O. fam not familiar enough with the details of the water withdrawal legislation to know if that potential impact is even a consideration in our determinations. | find it hard to believe it would not be a consideration since the impact of the Flint withdrawal could increase the impact of the downstream discharges on fish populations (not to mention the benthic community}, unless WRD were to restrict the discharge based on lower flows in the receiving stream. Brant should know if itis a consideration in water withdrawal, but | think it would be helpful to have Chuck present for any discussion that involves NPDES permits.

The city of Flint has an established baseline capacity of 90 MGD (which they will never use) and the 85 MGD for the Karegnondi Water Authority (AWA) project was approved via application and issuance of a water withdrawal permit to Genesee County Drain Commission (GCDC) in 2009. The only thing to be aware of on the water withdrawal side of things is the some times talked about service to the village of Almont. They lie outside the Huron-Michigan basin and I don’t believe water service to them would be covered by the existing water withdrawal permit issued to GCDC. If you have any questions let me know - Brant

| spoke with John O’Malia today concerning the meeting that he wants to set-up between the MDEQ, Flini, and Genesee County.
