FW: EPA releases FAQs on Reduction of Lead in DW Act (for comment)

Date: Thursday, May 23, 2013 11:33:35 AM FYI. If we are to comment, | would expect it to be the LCR experts and plumbing board members that would have insights into the issues that need further clarification. Brock, would you please coordinate any comments Michigan may wish to offer. Anyone else that has a comment should send them to Brock to compile. | don’t think we have to comment, but if we have something to say or something we wish EPA will address, we should do so even if others are saying it. EPA is more likely to respond when many comments are received on an issue. | know one of the biggest issues concerning the waterworks/plumbing industry is whether meter maintenance after January 3, 2014 will require that the entire meter be replaced with one that meets the new definition of lead free or if only those components that are being replaced must meet the new definition. If this document doesn’t address that issue or doesn’t satisfy us, we may want to comment.

FW: Meeting with MDEQ March 20,21,22 or 26

Date: Wednesday, March 14, 2012 3:32:11 PM Please see the note below. Mike P., I’m assuming you'd be the lead on this project. Who else needs to be included in this meeting? Looks like a significant change from our previous meeting. John O. is suggesting that Brock and Brant be included. Your thoughts? RE: Lead/Copper ?

Kris, please weigh in before Adam calls them back. Pat suggested they resample, but he forgot it was already October (Can't fault Pat - | can’t remember what YEAR this is!) | believe the samples are improper and should not be used to calculate the 90". The supply cannot resample because we are outside the June-Sept monitoring period. Calculate the 90" on the available proper sample results. The supply is short the minimum number of samples, so an M/R violation applies as does admin fine and PN. | could be persuaded on the admin fine.

Lead/Copper ?

Date: Monday, October 03, 2011 2:20:13 PM | was notified by Jeff Antil that Detroit received samples from Flint, and they were 2 samples short. Actually they had all samples, but according to the last use and collection times for 2 samples, equaled 5 hrs and 5.5 hrs stagnation time. Input please. thanks, Adam xxxEND_PAGE:deq01_b207_3873_3873_1
