The city of Flint has an established baseline capacity of 90 MGD (which they will never use) and the 85 MGD for the Karegnondi Water Authority (AWA) project was approved via application and issuance of a water withdrawal permit to Genesee County Drain Commission (GCDC) in 2009. The only thing to be aware of on the water withdrawal side of things is the some times talked about service to the village of Almont. They lie outside the Huron-Michigan basin and I don’t believe water service to them would be covered by the existing water withdrawal permit issued to GCDC.
