RE: Schools Water Testing

Right, got it now! Director Wyarit cid rnore than 15 interviews one week ago today. in those, we talked about the governors pian, inchiding sending tearns into the schoais in Flint to look for sources and check water sources for lead. Several of the reporters keyed-in on the provision in the governor’s plan which calis for the state to promote lead awareness for the schools, rnany of which have never been tested. The public awareness campaign will be lead by DHHS, Ht is still under development. This did noi stop alot of reporters from wanting to talk about it. Here's an example frorn today’s Detroit News (front page}: hitodAwiw 1 SH O26 /schogl-water? 4S06e3e/ So, there’s no letter from the state to the education cornmunity at large. All that has been communicated to the schoais at this point has been communicated by local reporters playing off the headiines from Flint. There’s been a few acho stories in local cornmunities.
