RE: Drinking Water Staff for FY17

Date: Monday, October 26, 2015 10:38:00 AM I’d like to include George in this discussion also. We’re still trying to coordinate with Genesee County Health Department, as they could be the primary agency collecting samples. | believe we are waiting on a proposal from the county. | think we should also discuss the possibility that George could use help in the form of an asistant.

RE: Drinking Water Staff for FY17

Hi Maggie! Have you had an opportunity to review the items below? The state budget office would like a response on this early this week. Any help that you could provide would be appreciated. Drinking Water Staff for FY17

Hello, The state budget office was able to review our PFC’s with John Roberts and Nancy Duncan this morning. They would like additional information on the request for the drinking water staff. 1) They would like metric information on what these two staff would be doing. Do we have specific targets for the additional year like inspect 100 schools in urban areas? 2) When will we know whether the staff will be DEQ employees as limited term vs. contracted employees? Any help that you could provide would be greatly appreciated! Flint Water Supplemental

Anastasia, The governor has just approved a FY16 supplemental for the Flint water issue. Here is the link to the house version of the Flint supplemental. The legislature website doesn’t have the PA version out there yet. RRD was appropriated funds as follows: Approp 04526 Fund 0001 $1,000,000 xxxEND_PAGE:deq16_b3_0014_0687_160 The funds are for additional testing at the state lab. The lab will need to know what coding to use for these tests. | am assuming that you'll identify the index, PCA, and use the department wide project number. Please let me know if you have any questions on the supplemental. | would be happy to follow up. Thank you, Sylvia Sylvia Renteria Financial Specialist Michigan Department of Environmental Quality 6" Floor Constitution Hall T: 517-284-5006 F: 517-241-7428 xxxEND_PAGE:deq16_b3_0014_0687_161

FW: Revised boilerplate language

Hello, Detailed below is revised recornmended bollernlate language frorn the state budget office. They have tweaked the wording so that itis a little more flexible. | have underlined the pieces that have been tweaked. Please review these changes and let me know If you are ok with them. Fwd: DRAFT City of Flint Solution

Since | am out of the office, | did not want to respond to all in case | am missing parts of the conversation. My thought is the appropriation could go in either DEQ or DHHS's budget. If included in our budget, | would suggest a $6 million appropriation for "Flint Drinking Water" with $1 million from settlements and $5 million from general fund with boilerplate language indicating the $6 million shall be paid to DWS for the reconnection of the Flint water system. Please let me know if you would like me to follow-up with Nancy or if anything else is needed. Sent from my iPhone Begin forwarded message:

Project Number for City of Flint Drinking Water

Importance: High Hello all. If your division incurs expenditures related to the City of Flint drinking water situation, we have established a central project number to track as many of the costs as possible department-wide. This can be used for both payroll and non-payroll charges. Exception: As usual, if you are using federal grants to fund the work/purchase, please use the appropriate grant project number instead of this central number. genres foie # Ss eee Thanks everyone! RE: Flint Schools Water Testing

Thank you Steve! ‘You are correct Lead and Copper is $26 and $1500 covers 57 tests. My understanding is that we are simply talking about the 50 that are being picked up today, if that is the case then we are in good shape. The cost far 50 tests is $1300. George George L.
