Hi Dave, lattached the Bureau of Children and Adult Licensing (BCAL} GovBelivery ernail in my earlier email, but Ive cut and pasted below for easier access. As you'll see, the article is making subscribers (primarily people who have licensed day cares and other facilities} aware of the city of Hint warning residents of potential dangers in the drinking water. BCAL is not ordering anyone ta do anything. | anciogize far not notifying the Governor’s Office, | dicin't see this until efter it went out, and it didn't occur to me thet the governar’s office would need ta be aware of ft. in retrospect | should have let you know, Please let me know if you need ary additional assistance. Thanks, Bob City of Flint Warns of Potential Health Risks Caused by the City's Drinking Water The city says there's been too much disinfection byproduct in Flint's water system recently, something that -- over many years could cause liver, kidney or central nervous system problems and an increased risk of cancer. The notice from the city says Flint water is safe to drink but warns that those with a severely compromised immune system, who have an infant or who are elderly may be at increased risk and should seek advice about drinking water from their health care provider. For others, there is no need to boil water or take other actions, the notice says. It is recommended that licensed child care providers and licensed adult foster care and homes for the aged providers seek medical advice or use bottle water when serving 1 xxxEND_PAGE:executiveofficeemails20_b1890_4603_4606_1 individuals at increased risk as outlined above.

Everyone, Attached ig a DHS Bureau of Children and Adult Licensing GovPellvery email that went out to subscribers of the BCAL newsletter. it doesn’t prohibit child care canters from using Flint water, but suggests that they seek medical advice or use bottled water. So rnayhe that’s what the intermediate school district is talking about regarding the Head Start program. it's possible MBE could have issued sarnething as well, so lll chack with them.
