Supplemental

Hey Caleb and Terry, Ball still bouncing a bit and wanted to make sure | looped both of you in on some items that will be part of a new FY 16 supplemental that is announced on Wednesday along with the 2017 budget recommendation . | just emailed Terry reference a new statewide infrastructure fund within Treasury with a recommended $165 million set aside for pipe replacement for communities in need across the state. Another $25 million on top of that specific to Flint for pipe replacement. Other supplemental items of interest for you two are listed below. Note $50 million in transition funding within Treasury...Terry, | believe this is to continue to keep DPS afloat while the longer term solution recommended by the governor is worked on by the Legislature. Note the $50 million reserve within DTMB for Flint....Caleb, this is reserved funding for Flint to be used if needed this fiscal year. All Flint stuff is going through Bill Nowling, so | don’t think you two will need to speak to it, just wanted you to be aware that what’s in your budget from the supplemental. Thanks guys. Contact - Flint Journal & water

Hi there guys - had a voice mail from Dominick (sp) Adams at Flint Journal late this afternoon your time re: "when Governor was going to decide on Flint's water?" Have not talked with him. And haven't seen the news yet (though haven't had a chance to really keep on top of things) so assuming that's still pending. His contact info is attached. Thx! xxxEND_PAGE:executiveofficeemails21_b0017_0028_0028_1

RE: Flint Water TPs

Thanks, Caleb. (And welcome back!) Agreed, though I think there's going to need to be couple of topline message points that get to Treasurer's review process very generally (ala Ron Fonger's piece that pointed out that one community is going to lose while another "wins" regardless of the outcome). Doesn't sound like Detroit may take lighlty if that ends up being outcome. We also do need a comms/outreach plan to make sure we've got all components and notification bases covered.

Fwd: flint and water

See below from Fonger, it looks like he has also called in to the office. Is this being handled, do you need anything from me? Our talking points won't change based on Detroit's release, unless something has happened that | am unaware of. It isn't our place to dispute DWSD while Andy is officially reviewing the proposal, but Brom could get us some info on the estimated savings if we needed it. Just let me know if you need anything from me. Caleb Begin forwarded message:
