The site is not blanketed -- there are 2 projects going on simultaneously : the impoundment which has been going for many months - lots of excavation and pushing dirt around; and the water plant site which just started a month or so ago. All the vegetation has been scraped off many acres. There is big equipment all over the place. | spoke with staff this morning about instructing them to blanket any areas near collection basins and slopes leading to ditches and surface waters. One of my staff just attended a meeting at the site yesterday with contractors and KWA representatives. He mentioned to me the contractor and he talked about cleaning out the drain, but I don't have all the details. | expect to get more information Monday morning. I can't open the photo file.
