Geralyn, Attached is the revised phosphate fact sheet and below is a thread of e-mails in which GCHD conveys cornmerts from EPA and expresses his concerns about the delay In getting this fact sheet released, Alaa below, Michelle Bruneau responds to Brad’s comments. Michelle, Kory and Jennifer have very thoroughly vetted the technical details with DEQ and GCHD, who also ran it by EPA. My opinion is that the technical details are accurate and are presented a5 clearly as passiile given the need to keep the reading level down to the standard requested by GCHD. Pmt working from home this morning, but | think Michelle is in the office if you have any further questions. We'd really ike to get this to GCHD today if at all nossible. Thanks Linda

Importance: High i talked with Jennifer Eisner and here is what we need: Only the 2014 data (not 2015 since we don’t typically release a year’s data before the year is completed), by zip code for all of Michigan with smail cells suppressed. And only confirmed venous tests as CLPPP has done for previous years: we'll explain that we’re including capillary tests in the Flint reperts in an effort to capture all possible EBLL children. xxxEND_PAGE:dhhs03_b0758_2644_2650_4 002648 Could | please have an estimate cf when this can be done?

Importance: High Ok, | deleted all the chatter in-between. i believe the request is for annual 2014 and 2015 (not by quarter) for all Michigan zip codes (suppressing cells less than 6). The data provided should match what we’re reporting to the Directer/Governor, so retain the highest test whether venous or capillary. Jennifer /Geralyn: is that accurate?

@richi sneri/@michigan, It is true that those cid reports do have unsuppressed data by zip code. Colin has weighed in recently on this with Bob Scott, so Bob has told me, advising that this should change. | support the need to implement a set of suppression rules for CLPP data. Coincidently, Corinne recently convened a workgroup to discuss the issue of data suppression for all of the BOE surveillance systems. (Note: different surveillance programs use different rules, for various reasons}. We will need to discuss this issue with Corinne and, | would assurne, Colin, and come up with an appropriate set of rules for CLPP before we release 2014 zipcode level counts.

Thanks Linda, but the media call originated in our office. xxxEND_PAGE:dhhs03_b0457_1664_1670_5 001669 the bigger issue here is this is data that is routinely available on the MDHHS web site and before the '14 data is posted and/or provided to a reporter, we want to ensure that the program and Epi agree it is correct. | would not want to be in a situation where epi looks at the past data posted and says "we don't think that is accurate". All- A reporter with Bridge Magazine is requesting the statewide 2014 (and if possible, 2015} CLPPP data. Bob sent me the attached county-level info for 2014 which | have net shared yet, as it’s not the final report. We would like to touch base to make sure the data has been finalized and reviewed by epi before it's posted online. Eden ~ we'll reach out to you in the morning to discuss the media request. Beyond the data, the reporter is also interested in discussing home lead investigations. We can do---I talked with Angela. Angela- This one pager is unable to portray seasonality, but the talking points can---such as: "it is important to note that lead exposure can vary by season regardless of where it is located in the environment. For instance, the third quarters (July-September) have the highest EBL proportions for 2014 and 2015 compared to other seasons of the year." Showing the chart can help too. Importance: High Attached is the bicod lead testing report with the eclits Eden and | discussed in pdf and InDesign formats. xxxEND_PAGE:dhhs02_b0599_2193_2198_5 002198 Please keep in mine that the purpose of the report is to inform residents and other interested parties about blood testing efforts in Flint. It is not intended to be a technical report. Recent discussions with GCHD suggest that seme of the materials currently posted at are written at a level that is not accessible by city of Flint residents and I’m concerned that this report has already become far too busy for many people to take in the information. Atechnica! description of the background and data analysis methods is on the to-do list, but will require additional time to complete. | expect it will include a detailed description of the analysis comparing ELL before and after the switch, as well as the results of our current efforts and all the methods used.
