RE: Lead Education for Schools

Date: Tuesday, October 13, 2015 4:08:38 PM Michelle completed a final draft of a fact sheet for Genesee County that | sent up our review chain earlier today. It’s focused on answering questions that the county is getting about using the city water for bathing, washing clothes, etc. All of our outreach efforts are supposed to go through Eden Wells and then to our communications office (Geralyn Lasher). | think DEQ and HHS should really work together on this, not have separate materials. Let’s brainstorm tomorrow morning when my brain is less dead.

Lead Education for Schools

DRAFT DELIBERATIVE — NOT SUBJECT TO FOIA One of the action steps identified by DEQ is to brush off past lead education documents and refresh/update them for distribution to schools. I’m wondering how this dovetails with the lead outreach campaign that we/you began working on last month? Do we see this as a separate assignment? Does DHHS wish to be the lead on it? Is it a subset of work already underway? I’m not sure where we left off after the last call and Michelle was gathering information. Do we need to re-group to discuss? xxxEND_PAGE:deq19_b04_0306_0721_402

RE: Lead

Hi everyone: Attached please find the very draft outreach and communications plan that Kory referred to — the scope will depend on what role we take on and availability of funding. The last page includes links I’ve compiled to the recent media, community groups, and the Virginia Tech group, as well as some potential talking points we might want to address. | have reserved our conference line for 2pm. The call in number is 877-873-8018; Access Code: 8282547.
