Call with Matt Davis

From
Susan Moran
We had a great call with Matt, overall seemed very supportive of our recent efforts and intends to modify the letter to the Governor based on actions taken by MDHHS. Highlights from our discussion: e VERY PLEASED with today’s release of information regarding lead testing e Matt supportive of our ICS-like structure (with project managed by Division of Environmental Health) — very much in line with centralized coordination and communication e Agrees with our proposal to use Medicaid population denominator as proxy for measuring progress in accelerating lead testing efforts e — VERY pleased with the efforts to partner with, engage Medicaid Health Plans in the public health response e Had some suggestions for using MCIR as a tool to link children and their school districts to determine potential lead exposure e Agrees there is lack of consensus among community providers about testing infants, but Eden/Sue/Matt agree that there must be a risk assessment for lead exposure from water, infants are at highest risk for adverse effects. Please let me know if you have questions. xxxEND_PAGE:executiveofficeemails21_b1129_2869_2869_1

FW: DRAFT DELIBERATIVE. Working Draft - School Sampling Protocol

Elementary 270ct2015.xlsx Importance: High Attached are the draft of the DEG school water sampling protocol and the first set of results. The sequential sampling section was added to the protocol after the first building was sampled and DEQ will return to Freeman to take those samples, likely later this week. The Freeman resuits suggest that the internal school building fixtures are the source of lead in the water samples. Linda xxxEND_PAGE:dhhs02_b1105_3827_3827_1
