RE: Flint Pastors Warn They'll Go To Court To Get City Off Flint River Water

Wayne and | discussed this further. | think it would be good if this group could meet early next week to have another discussion on Flint. The purpose of the meeting would be to discuss and finalize Flint RTAB members, and also to discuss the potential ramifications of Rep. Kildee’s recommendation that the state forgive Flint’s $22M water loan: feds about forgive.html \f you agree, perhaps Wendy (or Laura, in her absence) and Beth can help us find some time. Thanks much. Ashley

RE: RTAB for FLINT

I share your concerns. I’m around tomorrow if you want to touch base when you’re back in town ... I’m free from 9-10, and 1:30-3. Or, call my cell tonight or Friday if you’d rather (517 Related, attached are pictures of my parent’s water as of 3/27. They showed me at Easter (my mom also had rashes on her hands because of the water}. | thought they were over the worst of it, but this is frankly much worse than | thought it was...

RE: Flint Court Consolidation

One question ... assuming that we’re still planning to remove Jerry in April, can an alternative proposal still be sent to the ELB for consideration or does this issue become moot? Just looking at the timeline - if the plan goes to the city council immediately after the county board (presumably) approves on 4/13, the 17-day window for city council to vote and propose an alternative (assuming a denial of the EM’s proposal) would end on 4/30. How could this still go forward if Jerry leaves as EM prior to that time? BTW if it’s in the cards I’d argue for keeping Jerry on board at least until you can get 4 consecutive months of clean water tests to alleviate the Clean Water Standards Act/DEQ issue. If the court consolidation can happen in that window too, great. Just my two cents ... perhaps something to talk through at Monday's meeting.

RE: Flint Drinking Water Loans

Follow Up Flag: Follow up Flag Status: Flagged Matt, Thanks for sending this along. Wayne and | have previously discussed this, | don’t have any concerns. Note - I’m copying Ann here because she'll be taking over these PA 436 approvals going forward, keeping her in the loop. Two things we will need before we can finalize: 1) Please place on City of Flint letterhead 2) The EM should sign the request letter so it’s clear that he’s supportive before we ask Kevin so sign (see attached example from Detroit) In terms of timing, Kevin is out of pocket all afternoon on Friday. So, if you can get us the aforementioned changes by tomorrow, that would be optimal. Thanks! Ashley

Flint Drinking Water Loans

Ashley, As you are probably aware, we are in the process of amending the City of Flint’s four Drinking Water loans through the MFA to provide some up-front cash relief. To accomplish this, the Treasurer will be required to give his approval on the attached memo. Please let me know by tomorrow if you have any concerns with this approval. The tentative pian is to have all the documents signed on Friday. If you have any questions, please let me know. RE: Independent Water Analysis

Follow Up Flag: Follow up Flag Status: Flagged Thanks for sending, this is a great article. | agree that we should send this out ... just so I’m clear, are you asking Tom or | to handle the transmittal? Happy to do so, just let me know who would be the best contact in the G’s office (Dennis?). Maybe Howard/Pau! can send to the legislators. Just making sure we’re on the same page for next steps.
