RE: Outreach team meeting notes

Hi All Sorry | had to leave the call @ 11 A few things | would have mentioned from Jackson follow: Jackson Citizen Patriot is still interested in Industrial Steel Treatment aftermath (fine, spill prevention improvements); RRD is working on getting access to do Statewide Expanded Triage at old leaking underground storage tank sites; WRD, RRD, and ODWMA-RLF Section are working with Ypsilanti Community Utilities Authority (YCUA) and other stakeholders in Willow Run on plumbing upgrade issues and potential draw-down of impoundment at Tyler Pond/Tyler Dam NOAA Great Lakes Stickers; At least 2 Jackson staff and 1 Lansing staff volunteered at great Lakes National Ocean Science Quiz Bowl at UM on 2/7/15 and this could be a good Quibicle article; and finally, Attached are pictures of some really cool Great Lakes stickers that are about 4” x 6” from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Great Lakes Environmental Research Lab (GLERL) in Ann Arbor. When | visited NOAA for my Quiz Bow training, | asked for, and was provided some stickers for placement in our lobby and they're going like hotcakes. | request that someone from either OEA or Communications office contact NOAA, GLERL in Ann Arbor to see where they get them printed, seek permission to use them and them procure a bunch of them for distribution in DEQ offices, and they’d be great swag for Earth Day. Speaking of Earth Day, we are also seeing a volunteer within the District to coordinate our booth at the April 25 Jackson Area Outdoor Coalition Earth Day event, as Deb Snell from WRD will not be doing it for us again this year, and will keep this group posted as progress there. Thanks Mitch xxxEND_PAGE:deq03_b605_3253_3717_418
