Hi there Ron — Sure - can do now. We haven't been served yet so can’t comment on specific details. What would say is that we’re focused on moving forward and ensuring public health and clean, safe drinking water. The governor has outlined a detailed multiple step action plan for both immediate, mid and long term. He has also appointed a task force doing a very important job of reviewing all past actions. They are a bipartisan group of people of the highest integrity, experts in their fields and widely respected who are going to do a very thorough, objective review. Ok, Ron, here’s our undate and response. Our understanding of the original plan and agreernent to re-connect with GLWA-DWVSD called for monthly payments frorn the city. Unbeknownst to the state, the city entered into ari arrangement with GLUYVA-DWSD for one upfront sum and payment. We want to help ensure that there are absolutely na complications or interruptions in Flint residents recelving water

Sara: | was at a City Council meeting last night when Flint City Administrator Natasha Henderson said the state has only wired Flint $2 million of the $6 million approved by the state Legislature. She said the city has been told it will receive an additional $2 million in January and another $2 million in April. Henderson said she’s asked that the money be sent immediately because the city was required to pay Detroit the entire $12 million upfront, before the water was reconnected, and its water and sewer fund balance has dropped significantly as a result. Several council members also spoke about this, and Council President Josh Freeman called the payment plant “beyond ridiculous” given the city’s financial position. Is there someone who can talk to us about this? Ron, am on the road with Governor at moment, so do have to respond by email. The task force will operate as transparently as possible and there are certainly expected to be opportunities for public input. My carnments are several fold, Ron. This switch to KWA as well as using the community's long-time back-up water supply (Flint River) was pushed or supported by the city and cornmunity and that DWSD was terminating Flint from its systarn (see attached letter again just in case} necessitating another source, We alsa know Darnell cares deeply about the kids and cornmunities he serves. We're focused on solving this challenging infrastructure issue, moving forward quickly and doing everything we can to engure that Flint has safe drinking water and protecting public health — both in the immediate short-term, mid-term and long-term. We're also going to be conducting @ full after action review.

This is an option that we're helping thoroughly review and consider with the city, and the technical advisory committee's work is much appreciated in this matter. We're also focused on working hard in collaboration with all and implementing the key action steps outlined on Oct. 2 to help protect public health and ensure safe, accessible drinking water for Flint residents.
