NPR already calling our PIO- we have not heard what this brief is about---we do have Marc Edwards studies that do not show any increase inOPs in his testing... do not have DEQ results (but asked for them) and am looping in our CD group to help formulate any messaging in response-- Any thoughts your way? GCHD is awaiting a follow up conversation with the Flint Community Schools. e Genesee County Health Department (GCHD) is starting to see an increase in requests for blood lead testing. GCHD Nursing Director, Toni LaRocco, is working with McLaren Health Plan to develop a lead clinic in November. University of Michigan-Flint has offered nursing students to assist at the clinic. Adults can use the Genesee County Health Department’s Primary Care Clinic and the Health Department will bill insurance, or go on standing orders. e Total filters distributed by MDHHS and GCCARD, 8,000.
