Only problem with that is that the citizens of Flint say they are paying more now than they did when
they were connected with DWSD. The city, after all, is not giving the water away free right now, so
there is some kind of equalization that comes into play here. Additionally, we just gave them $2M so if
we need to use it for a reconnect that’s probably a good use of the money as opposed to people
refusing to use city water. Since we’re in charge, we can hardly ignore the people of Flint. After all, If
GM refuses to use the water in their plant and our own agencies are warning people not to drink it,
another expressing continuing concern over quality, and the differential between what we now collect
and what we would pay DWSD is not significant, we look pretty stupid hiding behind some financial
statement.
