RE: pastor harris

Only problem with that is that the citizens of Flint say they are paying more now than they did when they were connected with DWSD. The city, after all, is not giving the water away free right now, so there is some kind of equalization that comes into play here. Additionally, we just gave them $2M so if we need to use it for a reconnect that’s probably a good use of the money as opposed to people refusing to use city water. Since we’re in charge, we can hardly ignore the people of Flint. After all, If GM refuses to use the water in their plant and our own agencies are warning people not to drink it, another expressing continuing concern over quality, and the differential between what we now collect and what we would pay DWSD is not significant, we look pretty stupid hiding behind some financial statement.

RE: pastor harris

Would add that the city (Earley, Ambrose, etc.) have been unequivocal that doing so would cost at least $1m per month...per the DWSD “offer” ...and the city simply cannot afford that. | have also heard that the city no longer owns a section of pipeline that would have to be used in making any re-connection...making that more difficult and expensive.
