There have been a couple of incorrect reports about the emergency/disaster declaration process, assuming that a Governor’s declaration is merely a sign-off and then the request is moved to federal level. MLive That’s just not the case. Requests are made to each level of government when resources are exhausted. (See the attached fact sheet.)
