case management resources continue for families I think it’s a great idea. I would like to do a joint announcement once we have an agreement with the significant parties involved. I think this is the type of collaborative effort that can really make a difference for the children in Flint going forward, especially on the preventive side.

Elementary 270ct2015.xlsx Importance: High Attached are the draft of the DEG school water sampling protocol and the first set of results. The sequential sampling section was added to the protocol after the first building was sampled and DEQ will return to Freeman to take those samples, likely later this week. Nick, thank you for your phone call yesterday. These past cousle months have been a blur, and i wanted to po back art see exactly when [ first communicated with the state. My first contact with MDDHS was with Karen Lishinski on Sept 8 ishe had corne to Hurley a year prior to give a grand rounds on lead}. i called her and asked her about the lead concerns and she said that the state had looked at the blood lead data and that there was a possible increase, | asked her for the data over the phone, she said ok, but then | never heard back frorn har. | sent her the below email the day after. And then my first communication with Bob Scott was on Sept 16 asking for the data again.

Just got off phone with Jen Gray, our toxicologist who works with Linda. e She concurs with me that DEQ does NOT KNOW WHICH ZIPCODE these tests came from! e 15 ppb is the EPA actionable level e 4PPBis the residential limit DEQ uses to state that drinking water is safe AFTER an abatement or clean- up. e MDHHS Tox has NOT endorsed this 4 ppb level, and has been working with DEQ regarding this issue. This has implications for the exposure assessment protocol that they will be working on over the next two days with DEQ. e Right now, we cannot determine any other PH action other than turning of the water to all schools, however ,| will have a confirmation of this by Linda this evening--- e ?? and it is unknown on the MDHHS side if we can turn water back on if the school screens as nondetectable, because Linda needs to review the sampling method by DEQ. xxxEND_PAGE:dhhs02_b1031_3658_3661_3 003661 xxxEND_PAGE:dhhs02_b1031_3658_3661_4
