All,
| talked to Mr. Fonger (MLive Media Group Reporter)about the Bray Road Site. The following highlights the type of
information that was provided to Mr. Fonger during our conversation.
- Site was originally used as a sedimentation area for materials from the drinking water plant.
- Over time the City dumped street sweeping materials and concrete and asphalt debris at the site.
- OWMRP has been engaged with the City of Flint for a number of years (10+) to try to get the site evaluated. |
- There is another Bray Road site that is across the Road that is overseen by Remediation Division. :
~ OWMRP entered into a Consent Order regarding the evaluation of site conditions and potential cleanup of the
site. |
- Site Conditions are unknown at this time, the city will evaluate this summer. Preliminary water data indicate no
impact.
- Summarized the compliance program in the order. (Directed Mr. Fonger to JoAnne Rennaker to FOIA a copy of
the order)
- The City wants to use the Site for a sedimentation area again.
- The City is in the permitting process for the Drinking Water Plant. (Directed Mr. Fonger to talk to Steve Busch
regarding Drinking water questions)
- Provided Steve Busch’s contact information for questions related to the drinking water end of things.
~ Provided JoAnne Rennaker’s contact information to request a copy of the order through the FOIA process.
