Eric — I’m part of a group along with DEQ assigned to the Flint issue. In meetings with Flint, it was discussed that they are currently undertaking a project with UM-Flint to assist with the mapping of their lead lines using the property cards and GIS. This is a heavy lift. At the meeting I suggested that maybe the State could assist and therefore the reason for my phone call on Monday and email today to you. Would you have time yet this week to reach out to Howard Croft, Director of Public Works to discuss this issue? He is working with a Dr. Marty Koffman at UM. Howard can be reached at 810- 766-7135 ext 2043 or berot xtcora. It may be that there is not anything the State can do but I thought with your expertise in GIS, it would be at least worth asking.
