Re: Elected leaders Flint water briefing

Date: Tuesday, September 15, 2015 6:34:23 AM I spoke with Jim S. yesterday. I'll try to touch base with Maggie this morning, probably around | lish. We should be able to get a call in to strategize. Not sure what time Steve is planning to arrive. But we'll make it work. And if the briefing is Friday, one of us should be able to be there.

RE: Elected leaders Flint water briefing

Date: Tuesday, September 15, 2015 8:16:15 AM I’m in the office until 12:00 then headed up to the conference in Sault Ste. Marie. | can call in on the way up if you give me a time and number. News agencies are reporting that Mayor Walling has now sent a request to the Governor yesterday for $30 million to help address the lead issue. If this is for partial service line replacement it could exacerbate lead levels in homes rather than help reduce exposure. | have not seen this letter. Stephen Busch, P.E. Elected leaders Flint water briefing

Date: Sunday, September 13, 2015 9:56:54 PM Hi all- Brad and | had a call with the Governor’s office on Friday afternoon to discuss how to handle the Flint water letters we received from Congressman Kildee and from Senator Ananich and Reps. Phelps and Neeley. As you are aware, the Michigan legislators letter was asking for a response by Monday. | am assuming we will not have a response vetted and ready to go by then. Instead, the Governor's office and us agreed the best course of action is an elected leaders briefing. Congressman Kildee’s office is checking his schedule, but | think this Friday in Flint might be the best time. Liane, when are you back? Will you have some availability while you are up north to have a conference call to plan this? Please let me know your availability for the end of this week, or perhaps next Monday if we have to push it out that far. Thanks, Maggie Maggie Pallone Deputy Director Policy and Legislative Affairs Department of Environmental Quality 517-599-6190 (cell) [email protected] xxxEND_PAGE:deq02_b057_2119_2119_1
