Yes, WRD needs to be at the meeting. We issued the water withdrawal perrnit and farm irrigation was not part of the
permit considerations. Bina and the water withdrawal staff need to be there.

Liane and Bill,
| received a call from Jason Wadaga of Kindsvatter and Associates---they represent Genessee County Drain
Commissioners. They are getting a lot of questions from farmers on how to tap into the new water system since
they are getting disconnected from Detroit’s.
He’s requesting a meeting with DEQ/MDARD (Mike DiBernardo will be there for MDARD) to talk about the
process and any environmental regulations that they should be aware of if/when they tap in.
Can you guys let me know who from your staff (not sure if WRD and ODWMA both need to be included) would
be most appropriate to handle this? I’ll ask Jason to reach out to them directly.
Thanks,
Sarah

Bill —
The request from EPA regarding program integration reminded us that we needed to follow-up on our raquest last fall
for WED to monitor at selected intakes for a number of chemicals of concern (see attached}.
it’s our understanding that WRE were going to notify epplicants in Feb/March, but we have not heard anything. Could
you update us on the status of this request? And if this is moving forward, would it be appropriate to bring up at the
Region 5 directar’s rneeting?
Liane
Hi, everyone.
To follow-up on Tom’s e-mail below, we’d like to include a session on CWA/SDWA integration during the upcoming state
directors’ meeting. This session is currently scheduled for Tuesday, April 16, at 3:00 p.m. The proposed topics include national
and regional EPA CWA/SDWA integration nutrient-related activities, such as: (1) activities in the Western Basin of Lake Erie, (2)
state nutrients frameworks, and (3) WI nitrate project status. We'll be discussing where and how to better coordinate between
states and Region 5 during this meeting.
If you and/or any of your staff would be interested in presenting information about your work in nutrients, harmful algal blooms,
or what projects are happening in Lake Erie, etc., please let me know. And if you have additional ideas for topics, please let me
know that, too.
Thanks, and | look forward to seeing you in April!
