Lisa, Below are some numbers associated with the Flint drinking water system. You don’t necessarily need to use them all, but | want to help people get a sense for the scale of the problem. If you have any questions (learning our programs is hard — I’ve been here two years and I’m still working on it), give me a shout and we can walk through what these numbers mean. Flint water system’s service area: 34 square miles Flint water system’s miles of public water mains: 550+ Miles of public water mains that are 75 years old or older: 250+ Service connections: 32,900 Number of those service connections that are lead: about 15,000 These numbers are way more complicated, but thought I’d send them to you just in case you know of a brilliant way to deal with them: 1* 6-month lead and copper sampling period, completed Jan. 2015 (100 samples completed): 90" percentile = 6 ppb 2 6-month lead and copper sampling period, completed July 2015 (69 samples completed): 90" percentile = 11 ppb Some dates that would be good to include if possible, but probably not as part of the primary graphic: January 2016: Flint plans to have optimized corrosion control treatment operational July 2016: Flint plans to connect to Karegnondi Water Authority (which will bring in drinking water from Lake Huron) Finally, | attached a breakdown of who is responsible for what. This probably shouldn’t be part of an “infographic,” but maybe you could come up with a way to make it a bit more attractive? It might be as simple as branding it and giving it some color. | think there’s some holes in it, so | can get a final version of it to send to you. | just think it would make a good handout for the members of the congressional delegation who will be in the room and on the call on Monday. Obviously, there’s a lot of info here, more than will ever fit into one infographic. But | wanted to give you a couple different options.
