Roger, the county opened the bids today for the KWA intake construction in Lake Huron. The low bid, from a
"very reputable" contractor came in at $24,622,000, about $3,000,000 less than the Tucker Young estimate in
the study they did for Treasury. The County authorized the borrowing up up to $35,000,000 for the project. It
is now estimated that the total cost with engineering, legal and contingencies will be less than $31,000,000.
Good news for KWA and the county. Just as an aside, four of the five bids were less than the Tucker Young
projection. Ed
