in response to the constituent request below from Senator Paviov’s affice, i callie] Adam back at 9:20 this morning,
i briefly explainad that there are two pipelines, ¢ new one being constructed by the Karagnondi Water Authority (KWA}
and the existing Detroit Water and Sewerage Department (DWSD} pinaline from their Lake Huron Water Treatraent
Plant that brings water into and currently serves portions of Genesee County.
Adam's questions were specifically regarding the KWA pipeline.
explained that KWA obtained a water withdrawal permit fram the DEG for their Lake Huron inteke, the beginning
source of the pipeline.
His other questions were about payment for the pipeline.
explained that KWA obtained bond funds through Genesee Caunty for the project, and that the custarners of RWA
would pay that back through customer rates. (These rates would be to wholesale customers, but would be passed on to
he retail customers, Flint, Genesee County, ete. customers.)
