States that I believe have been active (at some stage in recent years) in working with their
water systems to devise lead sampling programs at schools and/or child care facilities connected
to water systems, are as follows:
e Massachusetts (Yvette Depeiza) - especially in working with Steve Estes-Smargiassi of
the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (serves Boston); Steve was on the NDWAC
LCR workgroup and his contact information is as follows:

¢ Wisconsin (Jill Jonas) - in working with Region 5 on some selected communities as part
of an EJ project.
e North Carolina (Jessica Godreau) - in working with the city of Durham, that had some
very high lead levels
e Rhode Island (June Swallow) - in working with the city of Providence
e Washington (Clark Halvorson) - in working with the city of Seattle
I’‘d start with Boston and Steve Estes-Smargiassi + Yvette DePeiza, if I had to pick one. Please
find the attached member list for contact information for these folks. Also, you've probably seen
this, but here’s a link to EPA's guidance page for schools and child care facilities where the 3T's
material (testing, teaching, telling) is located. 3T's includes recommendations for monitoring for
schools.
