My presence has been requested at the Genesee County emergency operations center (EOC) at 1 p.m. today. Because my staff are eligibility staff and are not part cf the public health discussions related to this emergency, lam afraid | do not have information that will be helpful to the EOC in determining the amount of human health damage. Chris DeVriendt, Genesee County acting Emergency Manager, again, has requested assistance from Dr. Eden Wells. fam requesting guidance on how this should be handled by the focal DHHS office, or if somecne from Lansing would be a better representative at the EOC. Your response is greatly appreciated. George Krisztian, DEC facilitates the meetings: the mayor, city administrator, and the Flint DW manager are typically in attendance, as weil as Eden Wells, Depending on the agenda, | either call in or drive to Flint for the meeting. Today's agenda was supposed to he all about engineering so | was planning to cail and just listen in. | just spoke with George. He was unaware of the Genesee ECC meeting. ithink you can share that we are still distributing filters, pitchers, and replacements at four sites during normal business hours. When requested, GCCARD/DHHS has provided filter distributions after hours or at town hail meetings. The number of requests have slowed down to around 800 to 900 per month. lam certain you have heard that Flint’s Mayor, Karen Weaver, has declared a state of emergency. | have just been contacted to attend a meeting tomorrow at 10 a.m., where key local agencies are getting together at the Emergency Operations Center to discuss needs that will be directed to the state.
